J&K logs 6 new cases of Covid-19

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported six new Covid-19 cases on Friday that took the infection tally to 4,54,176, officials said.

Of the new cases, four were reported from Srinagar district while two surfaced in Jammu district, they said.

There are currently 47 active cases in J&K – 32 in Jammu division and 15 in Kashmir — while the overall recoveries have reached 4,49,377, officials said, adding 13 more COVID-19 patients were discharged after their recuperation from various hospitals, including 11 from Jammu division and two from Kashmir in the last 24 hours.

The COVID-19 death toll stands at 4,752. No Covid-related fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, they said.

There were 51 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus), they added.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 14,000 doses of Covid vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,29,68,187.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,54,176 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far in J&K, 4,49,377 persons have recovered so far while 4,752 have died – 2,424 in Kashmir division and 2,328 in Jammu division.

Active cases in country dip to 15,044
India logged 2,259 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,31,822, while the active cases declined to 15,044, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.

The death toll climbed to 5,24,323 with 20 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The active cases comprise 0.03 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.75 percent, the ministry said.
A decrease of 375 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.50 percent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.53 percent, according to the ministry.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,25,92,455, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.22 percent.
The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 191.96 crore.
