J&K logs 26 fresh COVID-19 cases

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 26 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, officials said Wednesday.

They said 14 of the fresh cases were from Jammu division and 12 from Kashmir, taking the total number of positive cases recorded so far in Jammu and Kashmir to 4,53,595.

They said in the last 24 hours, 13 more COVID-19 patients who have recovered were discharged from various hospitals, including eight from Kashmir and five from Jammu division.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 38,766 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,19,44,500.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,595 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 112 active positive cases in the UT, including 74 in Kashmir and 38 in Jammu division. It said 4,48,733 people have recovered so far and 4,750 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and 2,327 in Jammu division.

Meanwhile, providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin informed that Srinagar reported nine fresh cases, Budgam, Pulwama and Kulgam reported one new case each while Baramulla, Anantnag,  Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Shopian reported no fresh cases today.

Similarly, Jammu reported 10 new cases, Doda reported three fresh cases, Kathua reported one new case while Kishtwar, Rajouri, Ramban, Poonch, Reasi, Samba and Udhampur reported no fresh cases today
