All students from J&K evacuated from Ukraine

Emotional scenes witnessed at Srinagar Airport

Srinagar: All the students from Jammu and Kashmir, who were stuck at Ukraine amid war, have been evacuated safely.

Official sources said that around 140-145 students from J&K who were stuck in Ukraine have been evacuated safely.

“The last batch of nine students have reached Delhi last night via Poland,” they said, adding that the government back in Jammu and Kashmir had made all arrangements for them at Delhi including travel, accommodations and other related things.

They said that Lieutenant Governor, Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha was personally monitoring the evacuation process.

The students belonging to different districts of J&K have reached J&K house in Delhi or their homes safely, they said.

J&K Students Association spokesman, Nasir Khuehami, thanked the government for ensuring safe evacuation of students.

Meanwhile, emotional scenes were witnessed at Srinagar Airport as students studying in Ukraine stepped out of the terminal.

The family members of the students were seen breaking in while hugging their dear ones.
