Srinagar: An elderly man’s body was recovered in Brenwar area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.

Quoting official sources, news agency KNO reported that the body of an elderly man was found by locals near power grid station Brenwar, Chadoora, who later informed the police.

Body was recovered from the spot and sent to GMC Srinagar.

“The police party found a male body of almost aged 55-60 years, with grey hair and beard,” police said in a statement, adding that “preliminary examination of the body suggested that the death might be caused due to cold and no visible mark of violence was found on the body. The body has been taken for medico-legal formalities.”

Deceased was later identified as Abdul Raheem Bhat, son of Abdul Gaffar, a resident of Noorbagh, Srinagar, who was missing since three weeks.

“The body will be handed over to his legal heirs while further investigations have been started,” police said.
