Srinagar: The 87th Guru Dakshta Faculty Induction Programme (FIP) started at the Kashmir University’s Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) on Thursday.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad inaugurated the online FIP as chief guest and underlined how such programmes can be beneficial to the newly-recruited faculty members in aiding their professional development and competencies.
Prof Talat said the Covid19 pandemic has changed the dynamics of education and research across the globe where academics need to align themselves with the changing paradigms to stay relevant.
“I urge young faculty members to take this pandemic as an opportunity for learning and understanding how best we can serve our student community so that they don’t lag behind in the field of education and research,” he said, congratulating the HRDC for continuing with holding its FIP, orientation and refresher programmes in online mode in a regular manner.
In his welcome address, Director UGC-HRDC Prof Mushtaq Ahmad Darzi gave an overview of the FIP and highlighted the themes to be covered in the technical sessions. He reiterated that the Centre will leave no stone unturned to promote the intellectual wellbeing of teachers in general and new-recruited faculty members in particular by holding relevant and sustainable programmes. He also thanked the university authorities particularly Vice-Chancellor and Registrar for their continuous support to programmes organised by HRDC.
