J&K logs 165 new COVID-19 cases

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 165 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday, taking the number of those infected with the virus to 3,41,624, even as no death due to the disease was reported in the past 24 hours, officials said.

Ninety-nine of the fresh cases were from Kashmir division and 66 from the Jammu division, the officials said.

They said Srinagar district recorded a maximum of 41 new cases followed by Jammu district that registered 31 such infections.

Officials also said 133 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 105 from Kashmir and 28 from the Jammu division in the last 24 hours.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 55,509 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 1,87,09,895.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,41,624 positive cases recorded cumulatively across J&K so far, currently there are 1429 active positive cases in the UT, including 921 in Kashmir and 508 in Jammu division, while as 3,35,665 persons have recovered and 4,530 have died – 2,331 in Kashmir and 2,199 in Jammu division.
