Istaqbaal-e-Chila-e-Kalaan concludes at Tagore Hall

Srinagar: The three-day festival of ‘Istaqbaal-e-Chila-e-Kalaan’ successfully concluded today at Tagore Hall here.

The main purpose of this festival was to keep alive the spirit of Performing Arts in the Valley even in the severe cold season.

The unique thing about this festival was that newcomers from the field of Music, Dance and Drama were given an opportunity and a platform to showcase their talent. Students of a few colleges like, S. P. College, Women College (M. A. Road) and A. S. College participated in the festival.

Despite severe cold and mercury touching around minus 2.8, the auditorium was full of the lovers of music and drama.

Syed Humayun Qaisar (former Director All India Radio) was the chief Guest, while as Naseeb Singh Manhas (Director Doordarshan) was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Shahzad Aasim, Tariq Javaid, Nisar Naseem, S. Tariq, Prof. Ruheena Tabasum, Dr. Afroza, Dr. Shabir Ahmad Mir, Gulshan Badrani and Mehmeet Syed were among the special guests.

The chief guest and the guests of honour who spoke on the occasion said that show was a huge success. They also praised the Creative Director Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan and his team. They said that it was very challenging to organize such programmes in such a severe cold.

In the end, Mushtaaque reiterated his commitment to work with full dedication for the Performing Arts and the Artists. He also expressed his gratitude to all the media houses, participating artists, staff of Tagore Hall, team of ACT.
