ACB produces chargesheet against former BMO Uri

Srinagar: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has produced chargesheet against Sheikh Farooq Nazir, the then Block Medical Officer, Uri, Baramulla and others for fraudulent withdrawal of arrears,

“The ACB produced chargesheet in Case FIR NO: 47/2015 Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir (now Anti-Corruption Bureau) against accused public servants namely Sheikh Farooq Nazir, the then Block Medical Officer, Uri, Baramulla and 16 other accused public servants including beneficiaries in the Court of Spl. Judge Anti-corruption Baramulla,” reads a communiqué issued by ACB.

“The instant Case was registered on outcome of a Preliminary Enquiry (P.E) conducted into allegations that the accused public servants in furtherance of criminal conspiracy had by abuse of their official position dishonestly and fraudulently drawn an amount of Rs. 30,70,000/- on account of arrears in favour of 13 accused beneficiaries against monetary considerations despite having knowledge that the arrears drawn are not due to the beneficiaries as such have caused huge loss to the state exchequer,” reads the communiqué.

“The investigation of the case was concluded as proved against accused public servants and after the accord of sanction from Government for launching of prosecution against the accused persons, the chargesheet of the case was produced in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Court Baramullah,” it reads.

“At the time of production of the Challan all the 17 accused were present in the Hon’ble Court who were released on bail. The next date of the case has been fixed on 27th December, 2021,” it added.
