Thousands attend Nimaz-e-Jinaza; demise condoled widely

Tangmarg: Shahid Masood Bukhari, a prominent journalist from Tangmarg area of Baramulla district passed away today following a massive cardiac arrest.

Bukhari, who had remained associated with Radio Kashmir, Doordarshan, Kashmir Images and Uqab, was presently editor KTV Network.

Hailing from Qazipora village of Tangmarg, Bukhari was a prominent name in the field of journalism.

He was laid to rest at ancestral graveyard at Qazipora and thousands attended his Nimaz-e-Jinaza.

The demise has been condoled widely by different media organizations besides political, social and religious leaders of the area.

The Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference President Sajad Lone condoled the demise saying, ‘it is a personal loss to me as we have worked in association for about 4 years. He was a wonderful and enthusiastic person.’

Expressing grief, he said, “I am in a state of shock after hearing the news of his sudden demise. May almighty grant him highest place in heaven”.

Apni Party senior vice president and former minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir and Peoples Conference provincial president and former MLA Gulmarg, Mohd Abbas Wani, in separate statements, expressed shock over the said demise and extended condolences to the bereaved family.

Kashmir Images team while condoling the demise prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.

Directorate of Information and Public Relation (DIPR) too has expressed grief and sorrow over the sudden demise of prominent journalist Shahid Bukhari, who passed away today due to cardiac arrest.

In a condolence meeting, Director Information and Public Relations, Rahul Pandey, expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise.

He also offered sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
