Retd SRTC employees stage protest in Srinagar, demand release of pending dues
Srinagar: The retired employees of Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) staged protest in Srinagar on Saturday demanding release of pending dues.
Talking to news agency KNO, the Employees’ Union president Muhammad Ashraf Khanday said that they are protesting to demand for release of pending dues which they haven’t received since past 11 years.
“Almost 750 employees opted for retirement under SRTC/VRS, GHS scheme, in which it has been stated that whosever will opt for it will get all rights within two months. But unfortunately till now we have received only 60 percent of dues and 40 percent are still pending. Even bills for the same have already been prepared in SRTC and civil secretariat but it’s very unfortunate that Finance and Transport departments are sitting on this very sensitive issue,” he said.
He said that they had left jobs only after they were promised that their all pending dues will be released.
“We request LG Manoj Siinha and Advisor R R Bhatnagar to resolve our issues on fast-track basis,” Khanday said.
