Tarigami condemns Tripura violence, police summon to Sajjad Kargili
Srinagar: CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami Monday said the recent violence against the minority community in Tripura has once again created an atmosphere of hatred in the region.
“Some communal elements are fanning passions against the minority community in Tripura under the garb of communal violence in Bangladesh. The Tripura BJP government is not doing anything against those who are disturbing communal harmony there,” Tarigami said in a statement.
He also said that summoning of a known human rights activist from Kargil, Sajjad Hussain Kargili by the police for a tweet on violence against the minority in Tripura “is a glaring example of how the administration in UT of Ladakh wants to silence those who speak against the violence.”
“Ladakh Union Territory administration must understand that by such acts genuine voices can’t be suppressed,” he said.
