‘Providing ample opportunities for youth to channelize their potential imperative’

Srinagar: Expressing concern over the increasing unemployment rates in Jammu and Kashmir from the last three years, Former Minister and Apni Party Vice President Usman Majid on Saturday demanded age relaxation for the youth of J&K in the forthcoming Sub-Inspector recruitment.

Usman Majid supported the demands of the unemployed educated youth regarding the relaxation in the recruitment age for the posts of Sub Inspectors in Jammu and Kashmir Police from 28 years to 35 years.

“Since the Government has granted one time age relaxation in JKPC (KPS) exams from 32 years to 37 years, the same relaxation should be given to aspirants of SI posts in J&K Police especially in view of the situation after pandemic,” Majid said, adding the administration has notified 800 SI posts for recruitment, the relaxation is all the more imperative.

He said the aspiring candidates who want to appear in SI examination and desire to serve the country with all their zeal must be provided with this opportunity so that their energy is channelized towards the right direction.

Furthermore, Majid appealed to the Lt. Governor to intervene in this matter and resonate with this pressing plea of the youth who have surpassed the age barrier.

“I firmly hope that the Lt. Governor-led administration will acquiesce to their genuine demand by making requisite changes in the age-bar limit in the advertised sub-inspector posts,” he observed.
