PDP demands stern action against those responsible for targeted killings
Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Monday demanded stern action against those responsible for the recent targeted killings including those of minorities in the Valley.
Senior PDP leader and party general secretary, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hajura said the selective killing of minorities are aimed at harming the secular fabric of Jammu and Kashmir and advised everyone to stay united to foil the nefarious designs of the elements inimical to peace.
“We condemn in strong words the target killing of minorities. Though it’s not known on whose directions these killings take place, but we demand stern punishment against anyone responsible for killing people from the minority community,” Hanujra told reporters after visiting slain school principal, Supinder Koul’s residence in Srinagar.
Hanjura also assured the minorities living in Kashmir that their interests will always be taken care of and whoever intends to harm them in any way will face public wrath.
PDP leader also said that “the selective targeting of minorities depicts government’s failure in protecting them in Jammu and Kashmir and same is the outcome of the unconstitutional decision of abrogating Articles 370 and 35A on August 05, 2019.
“I personally visited the slain school principal’s residence and expressed sympathies with her family. Killing of a female teacher and others by gunmen recently is an attack on entire humanity which must be condemned in strong words,” he said.
