JKRLM holds “SAATH” Orientation prog for women entrepreneurs

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) organised a workshop cum orientation programme for the selected women entrepreneurs of Kashmir division under Programme SAATH here at Sher e Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology Kashmir (SKUAST)

SAATH, a rural enterprise acceleration programme for SHG (Self Help group) women of J&K was launched by Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha on September 1, 2021.

The programme will help the women entrepreneurs to nurture their existing enterprise into sustainable, high productivity venture through skilling and market linkages.

Mission Director Jammu Kashmir Rural livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar in her welcome address said “SAATH” is a tailored programme to address the challenges faced by our women entrepreneurs of J&K. It will transform the lives of women and make them independent to deal with social and financial challenges

The Mission Director further said that the SAATH programme will guide the women entrepreneurs in every aspect like packing, marketing, branding, finance skills so that they can scale up their business.

Dr Sehrish also congratulated the selected women entrepreneurs and welcomed them to the “SAATH” family, she encouraged them to learn more and take full advantage of the programme so that they have complete awareness about entrepreneurship.

The Orientation ceremony was being conducted for the 2nd batch of 250 selected women entrepreneurs from Kashmir Division, who are running their own enterprises by the programme implementation and mentoring partners, India SME Forum, a National resource organisation for Micro small and Medium Enterprises.

Director General India SME Forum, Sushma Morthania, briefed the batch about the programme/Format/Layout, training and mentoring schedule. She also informed the Trainees, that the Training programme will last for nine weeks followed by six weeks of extensive mentoring to help these trainees for scaling up their businesses, and digitally enable them for being able to explore local National and International markets.

Besides the officials of the Mission, the ceremony was graced by Additional Mission Director, Riyaz Ahmad Beigh, Prahlad Kakar (chairman India SME Forum) Hemlata (Proprietor Cadenza hair India).
