HASK felicitates trained girls under VTCR

DIG north Kashmir attends event as Chief Guest

Baramulla: After training more than 70 girls in seven centers established under Vocational Training cum Rehabilitation scheme (VTCR) programme, Human Aid Society Kashmir (HASK) – a north Kashmir based voluntary social organization – felicitated 35 trained girls who completed the cutting and tailoring course and distributed equipment among four trainees.

On this occasion, Deputy Inspector General of Police North Kashmir range Sujit Kumar was the chief guest while as Secretary Legal Service Authorities (DLSA) and Sub Judge Baramulla Sayeem Qayoom and Program Leader Piramal Foundation and Niti Aayog Rekha Malik was special guest.

Chairman Human Aid Society, Bashir Ahmad Mir, said that the skill development program is aimed at empowering women and boosts their self-confidence so that they can learn to empower other fellow girls.

“We felicitated the trained girls with certificates besides several food kits were distributed among the needy, poor and underprivileged beneficiaries under Covid-19 response program,” Mir added.

While appreciating the role Human Aid Society in skill development among girls, Secretary Legal Service Authorities (DLSA) and Sub Judge Baramulla Sayeem Qayoom said that empowerment of women begins at home as we have to empower our daughters, wives and mothers at home by roping them in decision making but unfortunately we ignore them and take decisions without consulting them.

Hailing the efforts of Human Aid Society, chief guest Deputy Inspector General of Police called for greater involvement of women in decision-making and skill development which is imperative for harmonious growth of the society.

“Our women and girl are our pride and we must ensure their safety, welfare and protection of their rights. It gives me immense satisfaction and happiness to see these trained girls who can easily earn their livelihood and become torch bearers of women empowerment,” DIG Sujit Kumar said.

On this occasion, DIG north Kashmir distributed cricket kits and caps among the HASK sponsored students.

Patron Human Aid Society Kashmir Karamat Qayoom highlighted the achievement of organization under VTCRS program and stated that HASK has honour of training these orphan and poor girls in cutting and tailoring besides provided them support for rehabilitation.

Earlier, while welcoming the guests, Secretary Human Aid Society, Reyaz Ahmad Ganai, highlighted the role of NGOs and Human Aid Society Kashmir as mother NGO besides hailed the efforts and support of DLSA for its collaboration in various programs.
