J&K reports 113 new fresh COVID cases, 2 deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday reported 113 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and two deaths.

Of the fresh cases, 73 were reported from Kashmir and 40 from the Jammu division of the Union territory, officials said.

They said in the past 24 hours, two deaths were reported from the Jammu division, while as 124 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 75 from Kashmir and 49 from the Jammu division during this period, the officials said.

Besides this, 99.60 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir so far, they said.

They also said no new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) has been reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases in the UT stands at 37.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel COVID-19, out of 3,22,771 positive cases recorded cumulatively thus far, currently there are 1,298 positive cases in the UT,  while 3,17,081 persons have recovered and 4,392 have died – 2,239 in Kashmir and 2,153 in Jammu division.
