Two men injured in bear attack in Shopian

Shopian: A 50-year-old man was injured after he was attacked by a bear in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday morning.

Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that a man identified as Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, a resident of Chetterwach village in Imamsahib was injured when he was attacked by the bear in an orchard.

The official said that the man received injuries on his face and was rushed to district hospital Shopian for treatment.

Meanwhile, a team of wildlife department was rushed to the spot to trace the bear and the wild beast attacked them as well.

A shooter with the Wildlife sleuths identified as Irfan Ahmad was also attacked and injured by the bear. He too was rushed to district hospital Shopian for treatment.
