“The UT has ample developmental and employment opportunities”

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, while expressing satisfaction over the developmental and security scenario of the Union Territory, has asked Jammu and Kashmir youth to join hands to make a new Kashmir.

In an interview to a TV channel, Sinha said that most of the youth of the UT have new ideas, new thoughts and new hopes and they want to see a peaceful and progressive Jammu and Kashmir with focus on the development.

Commenting on some violent incidents, the Lt Governor said that the enemies of the nation and the people of Jammu and Kashmir are making efforts against the peace but such efforts are being tackled well by the security forces including J&K Police.

“The infiltration is almost over, the recruitment in terror ranks has come drastically down so have the violent incidents. The stone-pelting is now history. During past few weeks several terrorists have been neutralized. Our anti-terror forces have an upper hand,” he said.

The Lt Governor said that the people have realized the futility of violence.

“They are looking towards the government for development and progress and are isolating those who believe in terrorism,” he said, adding, youth too want development and employment and thus are ready to join the march towards Naya Kashmir.

“There are certain some who have gone astray. I ask them not to become tools in the hands of the enemies. Join the developmental process as the UT has tremendous opportunities for you,” he said.

Asserting that Prime Minister Modi believes in democracy and so does the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the LG said that the completion of DDC elections in a free, fair, transparent and peaceful manner is an indication that large number of people will come out to vote when assembly elections are held and choose the government of their own liking.

Commenting on recent drone appearances, he said that the security grid is fully prepared to deal with all kinds of situation and that people should not worry about that.
