JAK LI showcases its latest batch of 614 young soldiers
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre, showcased its latest batch of 614 passing out young soldiers from the UT of J&K, said a defense spokesperson.
“Recruit Course Serial number 124, on having completed one year of strenuous training was attested on 25 Jun 2021 at a glittering parade at the Bana Singh Parade Ground of JAK LI Regimental Centre,” the spokesperson said.
“The attestation parade, depicting graduation of a Recruit and his transformation into a Young Soldier, was reviewed by Lt Gen DP Pandey, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding 15 Corps. The Chinar Corps Commander in his address mentioned the uniqueness of this course that it is the largest course in the history of JAK LI Regtimental Centre being passed out, the course has recruited from each district of the Jammu & Kashmir,” he said.
The spokesperson further said: “The dauntless young soldiers of the Regiment hailing from all regions and religions of the UT of J&K, marching in precise unison singing their Regimental Song ‘Balidanam Veer Lakshanam’, inspired one and all as their voice echoed in the Kashmir Valley.”
“The Chinar Corps Commander congratulated the Young Soldiers for their immaculate Parade and impressed upon selfless service towards the Nation. He praised their contribution towards encouraging more and more youth from J&K to come forward to join the Security Forces and also highlighted the vital role played by their parents in motivating their wards to join this noble profession. He made special mention of the glorious past and contribution of JAK LI in the previous wars fought by the gallant soldiers and earning various gallantry awards and Battle Honours,” he said.
“The event missed the presence of the parents and the families of the recruits due to COVID protocols. The Corps Commander conveyed the nations gratitude for guiding their wards for the noble profession of arms. He congratulated the parents on the achievements of their wards. The young soldiers who excelled themselves in varied facets of training were also felicitated by the Reviewing Officer. Recruit Sahil Kumar from Rajouri was awarded the Sher-e-Kashmir Sword of Honour & Triveni Singh Medal for being adjudged ‘Over all Best Recruit’,” the spokesperson said.
“Recruit Irshad Ahmad Dar from Baramulla was awarded the Chewang Rinchen Medal for being ‘Best in Firing’. Recruit Surinder Singh from Jammu was awarded Maqbool Sherwani Medal for being ‘Best in Physical Training’ and Recruit Aman Singh from Kathua was awarded the Bana Singh Medal for being ‘Best in Drill’,” he added.
