J&K records 25 Covid-19 deaths, 1,117 new cases

Srinagar: The COVID-19 death toll in Jammu and Kashmir rose to 4,143 on Thursday with 25 more fatalities, while 1,117 new cases pushed the infection count to 3,04,866, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 785 were from the Kashmir Valley and 332 from Jammu division, they said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest 194 cases followed by 121 in Budgam district, officials said.

The death toll rose to 4,143 after 25 patients — 13 from Jammu division and 12 from Kashmir Valley — died in the past 24 hours, they said.

They also said 2,363 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals during this period. This includes 1477 from Kashmir and 886 from Jammu division.

Officials also said there were 18 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the union territory and no fresh case has been reported since last evening.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), out of 3,04,866 positive cases cumulatively recorded thus far,  currently there are 18,581 are active positive cases J&K,  while 2,82,142 have recovered and 4143 have died — 2130 in Kashmir and 2013 in Jammu division.

The bulletin further said that out of 90,35,646 test results available, 87,30,780 samples have tested negative till June 10, 2021.

Till date 22,03,263 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 75,594 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by the government, 18,581 in isolation and 1,41,189 in home surveillance while 19,63,756 persons have completed their surveillance period, the bulletin informed.
