Hailstorm hits Handwara villages
Kupwara: Heavy hailstorm hit different parts of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, the speedy hailstorm lashed horticulture-rich areas of Handwara and caused heavy damage to fruit orchards, leaving the farmer community high and dry.
The upper reaches of Rajwar, Qaziabad, Puthwari Nowgam, Reshwari, Yahama Lawoosa Qalamabad Audoora and Drangsoo Shahnagri villages of Handwara were worst hit during the hailstorm which started at 4: 28 pm and lasted for about 10 minutes.
