Annual Change of Guard for CII J&K Council

Srinagar: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) J&K Council on Friday held its Annual Session to elect the Chairman, Ravnish Gulati, and Vice-Chairman, Ehsan Javaid, of CII J&K Council for the year 2021-22.

In a statement issued here, a Srinagar-based spokesperson of CII said: “Ravnish Gulati, Managing Director Lal Chand Roshan Lal Agro Mills Pvt. Ltd is known for its wide range of Business Activities in J&K. He has taken the food processing industry in J&K to the next level of growth.”

“He is an active member of CII for the past many years since CII inception in J&K and contributed to the industrial growth of the newly carved UT through his meaningful interventions with the Government.  Presently, he is also one of the directors on the board of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Jammu. He was also a member of the consultative committee of NAFED,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson further said: “Ehsan Javaid is the Managing Director of Golden Apple. He is a first generation Agri-tech entrepreneur, having his footprint in both pre as well as post-harvest infrastructure for horticultural produce in J&K.”

“He has started Golden Apple Agro Pvt Ltd, one of the first post-harvest controlled atmospheric cold chain facilities for fruits in south Kashmir. Besides setting up multiple processing units under post-harvest segment, Ehsan through Golden Agrisence Pvt Ltd went on to bring the latest European technology in pre-harvest sector for high density apple plantation which has since had a game changing effect on the production of apple crop in J&K,” the spokesperson said.

“A lawyer by education, Ehsan was the Founding President of Processing Cold Chain Association of J&K (JKPICCA) and currently a member of the J&K Kissan Advisory Board set up by the J&K Government,” the spokesperson added.
