DGP sanctions meritorious scholarship in favour of wards of Police personnel/SPOs

Jammu, January 22: Director General of Police, J&K Dilbag Singh has sanctioned meritorious scholarships of over rupees 14.49 lakh in favour of 252 wards of serving, retired police personnel/SPOs under different orders.

According to a communiqué issued by the police, the scholarships have been sanctioned to encourage and appreciate the hard work of the wards of Police personnel who have excelled in 10th & 12th annual examination during the academic session 2019-2020,

“The DGP has sanctioned over rupees 8.89 lakh for 139 meritorious wards of serving Police personnel who have secured 80% and above marks in the Annual Examination of Class 12th during the academic session 2019-20. Among these rupees 7200 each have been sanctioned in favour of forty-six meritorious wards who secured 90% and above marks and rupees 6000 each have been sanctioned in favour of ninety-three meritorious wards who have secured 80% and above marks,” reads the communiqué.

“The DGP has also sanctioned meritorious scholarship of rupees 4.82 lakh in favour of 96 wards of serving Police personnel who have secured 80% and above marks in the Annual Examination of class 10th during the academic session 2019-20. Among these rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of forty-nine meritorious wards who have secured 90% and above marks and rupees 4000 each have been sanctioned in favour of forty-seven meritorious wards who have secured 80% and above marks in the annual examination of class 10th,” the communiqué said.

“Vide order No. 165 of PHQ, the DGP J&K has sanctioned rupees 6000 each in favour of eight wards and rupees 4000 each in favour of three wards of serving SPOs of class 10th  and 12th  who have secured 80% and above marks during the academic session 2019-20,” it said.

The communiqué further said: “Besides the DGP has sanctioned scholarship of rupees 3000 each in favour of six wards of retired Police personnel who have secured 75% and above marks in the annual examination of Class 10th and 12th during the academic session 2019-2020.”

“The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund/J&K Retired Policemen Welfare Fund and Police Pariwar Fund. Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, welfare loan/ relief for police personnel, wards of martyred and serving/retired Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale,” it added.
