DCPU organizes orientation prog in Anantnag
Anantnag: District Child Protection Unit Anantnag (DCPU) convened one-day training cum orietation programme at Anantnag for selected persons from administration, health and education and Media.
The programme is being sponsored by UNICEF.
The Chief Guest, Fida Hussian Nayek, Principal Magistrate appreciated the role of District Child protection unit (DCPU), JJB AND CWC Anantnag for their wonderful work on child related issues in the district.
Dr Peerzada Farhat, (DCPO) gave detailed lecture on scheme pertaining to child welfare and he has also appreciated the role of DCPC, CWC and JJB Anantnag.
Dr Tawheeda Maqdoomi, chairperson CWC and JJB Anantnag gave detailed presentation on JJ Act, 2015. Sajad Ahmed Rather, member JJB Anantnag, highlighted the different structures of ICPS. Rao Farman Ali (Researcher) gave detailed presentation on prevention of children agaisnt sexual offence act (Pocso) Act 2012. He gave details regarding the medical examination of a child
S.Tariq senior journalist also spoke on the occasion about the role of media in relation to children.
Further Advocate Sana Majeed, Legal Cum Probation Officer (ICPO) and Support Person, POCSO said that media should follow the rule, as laid down in the JJ Act and POSCO Act, of not revealing the identity either of children in need of care or child in conflict with law or a child who is victim of any offence. She further said that if said rule is violated, the offender has to stand liable.
