Two youth go missing from Natipora after killing of PDP leader’s PSO

SRINAGAR: Two youth from Natipora area of uptown Srinagar went missing hours after a Personal Security Officer (PSO) of a PDP leader was shot dead by unknown gunmen in the same locality two days ago.

Irfan Ahmad Sofi, son of Nazir Ahmad Sofi, who owns a crockery shop, and auto-driver Bilal Manzoor Bhat, son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, went missing on November, the day gunmen attacked residence of PDP leader, Haji Parvez Ahmad killing his PSO.

Families of the missing youth have lodged a missing report at police post Channapora to ascertain the whereabouts of their kin.

A police official told ‘Kashmir Images’ that the duo went missing hours after the PSO of a PDP leader was killed by suspected militants.

He said the police after receiving complaints from the families of the missing youth started investigation to ascertain the cause of their sudden disappearance.

“We have received a complaint from the families of the missing youth from Natipora. Investigation into this instant case has been started and we cannot say anything with authority until we get some vital lead in this case,” official added.

Meanwhile families of Irfan and Manzoor have appealed to them to return home without indulging in any activity which might put them in trouble.

“We appeal to both of them to return home or contact police post Channapora in case they face any problem. We also request you both not to indulge in any activity which may put you in trouble,” they added.
