Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today hit out at the Govt for failing to ensure security to Candidates and other Senior Party Leaders and urged the Govt to ensure adequate security cover to them.

JKPCC   in a Statement has expressed serious concern over the failure of the Govt to provide security to Candidates, who have been fielded to contest DDC Elections in Jammu and Kashmir and described it as very unfortunate and matter of grave concern.

On the one hand Govt was claiming to have made appropriate arrangements with regard to Elections and on the other hand there was no security available, which could be determinantal to the electoral process, as that, the Candidates and other leaders of the Party won’t be able to campaign, as they were feeling insecure given the prevailing circumstances, the press release said.

The “ifs and buts” on account of security would endanger the lives of candidates and other party leaders, so Govt must make elaborate security arrangements to ensure friendly atmosphere to DDC candidates, PCC added.

JKPCC urged the Govt not to waste further time and take urgent measure to ensure appropriate security cover the to all those who have been fielded by the Parties to contest elections and other party leaders in J&K.
