‘My Town My Pride’ culminates at Kulgam amid multifarious activities

Principal Secretary PDD lays foundation stone for Slaughter House, Yaripora transmission line, inspects development projects

KULGAM : Multifarious activities across Frisal, Kulgam, Devsar and Kulgam towns marked culmination of ambitious ‘My Town My Pride’ programme here today.

In this regard, Principal Secretary, Power Development Department and Information, Rohit Kansal, today laid foundation stone for various development projects besides inaugurating modern slaughter house at Chatabal Kulgam which was a long pending demand of the people. He also laid foundation stone for 33KV, Yaripora transmission line which will streamline the power scenario in Yaripora and adjacent areas benefitting about 1 lakh souls.

Earlier, the Principal Secretary inaugurated divisional level workshop at grid station which has come up with a cost of Rs 97.59 lakh.

Later, Kansal inspected 6.3 MVA receiving station at Chawalgam and directed the concerned to complete all pending works on station within shortest possible time.

He also participated in plantation drive at Boys Higher Secondary School Chawalagam and planted saplings there. He interacted with the students and asked them to take advantage of every single opportunity to become successful person in life.

He also interacted with Auqaf Committee Members and locals who projected various demands and problems seeking an early redressal to the same.

Meanwhile, Kansal chaired a meeting with Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, MD KPDCL, Chief Engineer Distribution, Joint Director Planning and other officers to review functioning of PDD in district Kulgam.

Present on the occasion were Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, Managing Director KPCL, Mohammad Aijaz and other officers besides ULB members.

Later, Kansal visited revered Shrine of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Simnanya (RA) here in main town kulgam and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
