14 more people die of COVID-19, 1090 test positive in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported 1,090 fresh COVID-19 cases, while 14 more fatalities took place in the past 24 hours, taking the infection count to 77,253 and the death toll to 1,212, officials said.

Jammu registered 603 new COVID-19 patients while 487 more cases were recorded in the Kashmir Valley, they said.

Jammu district reported a maximum of 354 new cases, followed by 181 in Srinagar district, the officials said.

There are 16,089 active COVID-19 cases in the UT, while 59,952 patients have recovered from the infection so far, they said.

Of the new fatalities due to the novel coronavirus, 10 were in Jammu and four in the Valley, the officials said.

Giving district-wise breakup, the officials said that Srinagar has 15226 positive cases (including 181 cases reported today) with 2103 Active Positive, 12828 recovered (including 132 cases recovered today), 295 deaths; Baramulla has 4491 positive cases (including 64 cases reported today) with 1374 Active Positive, 2993 recovered (including 22 cases recovered today), 124 deaths; Pulwama reported 3996 positive cases (including 29 cases reported today) with 403 active positive cases, 3524 recovered (including 36 cases recovered today), 69 deaths; Kulgam has 2285 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 111 Active Positive, 2131 recoveries (including 09 cases recovered today), 43 deaths; Shopian has 2039 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 157 Active Positive, 1850 recovered (including 10 cases reported today), 32 deaths; Anantnag district has 3567 positive cases (including 32 cases reported today) with 441 Active Positive, 3060 recovered (including 17 cases recovered today), 66 deaths;  Budgam has 4980 positive cases (including 54 cases reported today) with 846 Active Positive and 4049 recovered (including 79 cases recovered today), 85 deaths; Kupwara has 3665 positive cases (including 25 cases reported today) with 737 Active Positive, 2861 recovered (including 29 cases recovered today), 67 deaths; Bandipora has 3492 positive cases (including 58 cases reported today) with 431 Active Positive, 3024 recovered (including 55 cases reported today), 37 deaths and  Ganderbal has 2946 positive cases (including 28 cases reported today) with 333 active positive cases, 2584 recoveries (including 21 cases recovered today) and 29 deaths.

Jammu district, officials said, has 13859 positive cases (including 354 cases reported today) with 3553 active positive cases, 10110 recoveries (including 187 cases recovered today), 196 deaths; Rajouri has 2725 positive cases (including 33 cases reported today) with 1059 active positive cases, 1634 recovered (including 168 cases reported today), 32 deaths; Ramban has 1382 positive cases (including 25 cases reported today) with 252 active positive, 1120 recoveries (including 20 cases recovered today), 10 deaths; Kathua has 2100 positive cases (including 21 cases reported today) with 483 Active positive, 1593 recovered (including 30 cases recovered today), 24 deaths; Udhampur has 2303 positive cases (including 30 cases reported today) with 414 active positive cases, 1869 recovered (including 163 cases reported today), 20 deaths; Samba has 1802 positive cases (including 20 cases reported today) with 645 Active Positive, 1135 recoveries (including 135 cases reported today), 22 deaths; Doda has 2260 positive cases (including 27 cases reported today) with 931 active positive cases, 1297 recoveries (including 64 cases recovered today), 32 deaths; Poonch has 1810 positive cases (including 22 cases reported today) with 908 active positive, 886 recoveries (including 67 cases reported today), 16 deaths; Reasi has 1010 positive cases (including 46 cases reported today) with 319 active positive, 685 recoveries (including 126 cases reported today) and 06 deaths while Kishtwar has 1315 positive cases (including 25 cases reported today) with 589 active positive cases and 719 recoveries (including 30 cases recovered today)  and 07 deaths.
