Srinagar jolted
Srinagar: Srinagar residents felt an earthquake like jolt around 9.41 pm on Tuesday creating panic all over.
ANI reported that an earthquake was felt in Srinagar, quoting European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
Sources in the Disaster Management said that they are in touch with National Seismological Centre, New Delhi.
“It was not recorded on the automatic seismograph as the magnitude was probably low,” sources said, adding, “They are trying to triangulate in manually to find out the epicenter, in case it was an earthquake.”
Interestingly no jolts were felt in Baramulla, Anantnag and Pulwama districts. Some reports suggested that slight jerks were reported from Tral.
As the MeT department remained silent till this report was filed, it is too difficult to say whether it was an earthquake or impact of some blast somewhere.
