Congress terms abolition of SHGs an arbitrary decision

Calls it an assault on livelihood of engineers

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today said the abolition of SHGs, their work quota of 30% was an assault on the livelihood of thousands of engineers involved in the construction work.

They Party asked the administration to revoke the decision to avoid further chaos in J&K UT.

In a statement issued today, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President and Former Minister G.A. Mir slammed the UT Administration for abolishing the SHG (Self Help Groups), their work quota and said thousands of qualified engineers involved in the construction work will be left jobless by this inhuman decision.

“There were more than 15000 thousand engineers, their staff working in their offices involved in the construction work in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, who will be left jobless, this decision is bound to have serious complications on the already devastated economy of J&K”, Mir said.

Who is advising the Govt to take such harsh and anti-people decisions, Mir questioned and urged the UT Administration  not to indulge in such heartless activities, as that, people of Jammu and Kashmir have already suffered enormously by many arbitrary decisions.

“Inspite of creating employment avenue for the educated youth of J&K, the administration was deliberately showing door to those, who are somehow able to earn their livelihood’, JKPCC President said.
