Founder of Dar-ul-Uloom Zakariya, Peer Abdul Ahad, passes away

Cross section of society expresses grief and condolences

Baramulla: A renowned religious figure and founder of Dar-ul-Uloom Zakariya, Peer Abdul Ahad of Rawanpora Kunzer, left for heavily abode on Wednesday. He was the founder of Dar-ul-Uloom Zakariya.

A pall of gloom descended on Rawanpora Kunzer in Tangmarg, the native place of Peer Abdul Ahad, as soon as the news of his death trickled in. Cross section of society and various socio-political organizations expressed their grief and condolences on his sad demise.

People termed Ahad Shab a pious soul with kind heart who was always helpful to the needy and poor people. “The deceased has made a lot of contribution towards the society.”

Haji Sahib was revered by the people all over the valley. The funeral prayers of the deceased were offered by Maulana Mufti Rehmatullah Sahib, Patron General of Darul Uloom Bandipora, a well-known religious scholar of Kashmir Valley.

Former Member Legislative Assembly Gulmarg, Muhammad Abbas Wani, National Conference Assistant General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Abdul Qayoom Wani Civil Society Educationist, Prof. Abdul Jabbar Gokhami. Traders Association Tangmarg Kunzer, Tangmarg Working Journalists Association have expressed over the demise of Peer Abdul Ahad.

Terming his demise ‘a huge loss to the Society’, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum, Ab Qayoom Wani, prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and tolerance to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss. Wani said that the whole leadership and Membership of JKCSF stand with the bereaved family at this difficult time.
