DISHA meeting: Dr. Jitendra reviews achievements under central schemes in Doda

DODA: Union Minister of State, Dr Jitendra Singh, today reviewed the achievements under   Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS)s in district Doda here at a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), which he attended through video conference.

The Union Minister also e- inaugurated and dedicated to public 6 KM Bhella to Parnote road and 8 KM NH1B to Kandote road constructed under PMSGY sector.

The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode along with BDC Chairpersons and District officers of all the departments.

At the outset, the DDC Doda gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on financial as well as physical progress under the Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented in the district by various departments.

The Union Minister reviewed the achievements under Schemes of PWD, Health, RDD, Agriculture, PMGAY, Hydraulic, PDD, Education, Horticulture, Social Sector, Employment, Back to Village and languishing projects.

Besides, the pace of progress on mega projects like Doda Government Medical College, Pull Doda- Beoli Road,  Multipurpose indoor hall,  Govt. Polytechnic Doda, Truck terminal, New Degree colleges including GDC Kilothran and Women College at Doda, Chenani -Sudhmahadev- Khalleni Road, Multi tier bus stand and Auditorium at Doda.

The Union Minister was informed that earth work of Pull Doda to Beoli Road (widening) has been completed and further work is in progress, while work of multipurpose indoor hall has been completed upto pavilion level.

About government polytechnic college Doda, the meeting was informed that 50% work has been completed.

Similarly, 60% work has been completed on truck-terminal till date, while the process for DPR formulation for multi tier bus stand and Auditorium is at conception stage, the union Minister was told.

The Government Medical College building at Ghat is 76% complete  and the makeshift campus and associated hospital are ready to receive the first batch of students, the Union Minister was informed.

It was informed that the sanctioning of Women College for Doda, and GDC Marmat has been widely hailed by the people of the district. It was further informed that proposals for sanctioning of new degree colleges for Jatheli/ Mohalla, Assar, Batyas, Bhalla, and women college Bhaderwah have been submitted for approval.

The meeting was further told that the land has been identified for all the four Kendriya Vidyalayas, even as KV Bhaderwah, KV Gandoh, KV Jodhpur are functioning in temporary accommodation.

The Union Minister also reviewed the progress of Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme. It was informed that against targeted 20 Lakh pages, scanning of 16.43 Lakh has been done, while of the total 1679 musavies, 1594 have been scanned.

While reviewing the performance of Jal Shakhti department, the Union Minister was   informed that work on 86 water supply schemes is in progress across the district under different programmes. Under Jal Jevan Mission 109 schemes have been taken up which are expected to benefit 2 Lakh population.

Likewise, under the irrigation sector, 19 protection bunds were restored benefitting 530 hectares of agricultural land.

The Union Minister also reviewed Covid control measures in the district. He appreciated the district administration led by DDC for making elaborate and advance arrangements and involving the civil society in containing the spread. He directed the administration to implement the central schemes and complete the projects in a time bound manner.

The BDC Chairperson, Ghat, Shareefa Begum, BDC chairperson, Gundna,  Sarshad Natnoo and BDC chairperson, Khalleni,  Manish Kumar also interacted with the Union Minister and presented their demands. The Union Minister directed the administration to consider their demands on priority.
