“We had issued a corrigendum same day when date for the election to the Srinagar Mayor’s post was announced earlier.  We had written to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and Commissioner SMC that elections will be held on 16th of July instead of 14th July,” Sofi Akbar said adding election will be held at Banquet Hall Srinagar at 10 am on Thursday.

Mattu resigned as a Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) after losing no-confidence motion moved against him by the dissidents backed by former Deputy Mayor on June 16 last month.

Sources said Qadri who is affiliated with National Conference may face the no-confidence motion in coming few days. He was elected as Deputy Mayor Srinagar after BJP moved a vote of no-confidence motion against Sheikh Mohammad Imran.
