Govt to issue guidelines, SoP

Srinagar: Stating that J&K LG Murmu had issued directions in a high level meeting here in Srinagar, Rohit Kansal, principal secretary, today said that Jammu and Kashmir shall reopen for tourism very soon.

In a tweet, Kansal said that Jammu and Kashmir tourism will be reopened soon and that the government will notify detailed guidelines as well as SoP’s in this regard. Directions to this effect were issued by the Lt Governor in a high level meeting of officials here in Srinagar, he added.

It is pertinent to mention that tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir has suffered massive after over three months of suspension due to the prolonged lockdown post Covid-19. The otherwise bustling tourist destinations including Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Srinagar which would traditionally see thousands of tourists during the summer season have virtually seen zero occupancy this year. People, particularly from various states of the country, would throng Kashmir to escape the hot summers and enjoy the temperate weather of the mountain resorts here in Kashmir.
