Jammu : Dogra Swabhimaan Sangthan party founded by former Minister Choudhary Lal Singh termed the CBI enquiry against him as political vendetta and politics of vengeance.

Addressing a Press Conference, General Secretary of the party Dr.Hari Dutt Shishu and Vice President Sh. KD Singh Jamwal said, “It sounds ridiculous but a fact that the case which has been entrusted to the CBI, stands already investigated by the vigilance department and being followed by Revenue department under the direction and the monitoring of HC, as a part of a PIL and nothing adverse has been found against Ch. Lal Singh till date.”

“It’s a coincidence that earlier the enquiry was conducted under the influence of then CM Gulam Nabi Azad who wanted to damage the reputation of Ch. Lal Singh, who was MP at that time and was a towering leader of JK in the parliament. Gulam Nabi Azad, fearing his growing popularity, resorted to these means to stifle his voice and damage his reputation, which finally came in front of everyone when he managed the mandate of Kathua Udhampur constituency but got defeated as the same constituency was represented twice by Lal Singh and it was the main cause finally Azad got defeated ,” they said.

They added, ” it’s strange that JKUT ,lwhich is passing through a very crucial phase and is plagued of corruption, nepotism, which is evident in various scams like Roshani Scam, appointments of tainted officers on bigger posts, Encroachment of state and forest land at Sidhra, Bathindi, Sunjwan, Tawi Golf Course, but it is shocking that CBI, which is directly under the control of PMO, is being used as a tool to stifle the voice of Dogras instead of ignoring these cases of public importance.”

They said that it is surprising that ignoring the sensational case like Rasaana, Encroachment of forest and state land in Sunjwan, Bathindi, Sidhra and also instead of action against beurocratic nexus involved in land encroachment, the Government choose to target Lal Singh, who spearheaded a movement for seeking CBI in Rasana.”

“It’s shocking that how the government can remain mute spectator to a recent documentary screened on ZEE TV and anchored by Sudhir Choudhary with the name Land Jihad in JK. We are not saying that CBI should not investigate the case which is already passing through the judicial testimony under the monitoring of HC, but ignoring the other cases of public importance, speaks of none else other than political vendetta and politics of vengeance,” they said in a statement.

While addressing Dr Shishu and KD Singh further said, “It is surprising that how MOS PMO, who promised CBI during agitation if consented by then CM, has forget his commitment of CBI in Rasana.”

“Is it not his moral responsibility to clear the dust once for all by ordering the same? Is he not aware that Hon’ble court has already casted aspersions on the enquiry conducted by CB and has ordered FIR, still pending, against the Investigation agency? Is he not aware that owing to poor and unprofessional Investigation, Court has absolved the alleged main accused Mr Jangotra of any crime and that resulted in his acquittal? How the then IGP Crime who wrote the script of Rasana on behest of then CM Mehbooba Mufti, got prime position as member of PSC few days ago in the present regime? These are few questions which whole of the Jammu looking answer is for. How the case of Lal Singh has become so important over these all the issues? ”

“What else is required to term it as a political vendetta? We trust the judiciary of the country and will come out clean but the whole of the Jammu will seek answers to these few questions from the present dispensations in near future. DSSP would like to warn of dire consequences and shall resort to agitational path and the Dogras of Jammu will vehemently oppose any kind of attempt on the part of Government aiming to stifle the voice of Dogras,” statement added.(KNS)
