JKSA, JKGBYWC, JKSM urge Govt to promote students as per UGC guidelines

Srinagar: Expressing concern over the plight of the students, J&K Students Association, J&K Gujjar Bakerwal Youth Welfare Conference and J&K Students Movement have urged the Government to promote students as per UGC guidelines by holding internal assessment examination.

In a joint statement issued here, they said that Govt should promote students on the basis of their internal assessments in order to give them a clear way ahead and hold offline classes for upcoming semesters whenever situation will normalize. They demand that UG and PG students across all semesters be promoted on the basis of internal assessment and that online exams should not be held as many may not have access to the internet.

J&K Students Association Spokesperson Nasir Khuehami said that due to continuous ban on high-speed internet (4G Services) Kashmiri students can’t attend their online exams. He said that the unavailability of high speed internet connectivity has hampered the process of online classes of students.

President J&KSM Gazi Muzamil said that the government should direct all universities and colleges to follow UGC guidelines and promote Kashmiri Students to next semesters.

Meanwhile, Zahid Parwaz Choudhary, State President, J&K Gujjar Bakerwal Youth Welfare conference has objected the proposed move of Jammu University of holding exams.
