Covid-19 tally: Cases cross 100 in Baramulla district
Baramulla: With one more person from Nowpora Kalan Sopore testing positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, Baramulla district becomes the second district in north Kashmir after Bandipora to cross the mark of 100 positive cases, taking the tally of the Covid-19 patients in the district to 104.
Forty two persons have been discharged from the hospitals after recovery and three persons have died of deadly virus in the district so far.
Talking to Kashmir Images, Nodal Officer Covid-19 Dr. Zulfikar Ahmad said that with a 22-year-old-girl from Nowpora Kalan Sopore testing positive today, Baramulla district has total 104 positive cases of Covod-19.
Among the positive cases, Baramulla town has 17, Narvaw 15, Tangmarg 36, Sopore 21, Uri 11, Rohama Rafiabad 1 and Kreeri has 2 positive cases. Among those who died due to Covid-19, one was from Sopore and two from Tangmarg, said Dr. Zulifkar
District Administration has so far declared 18 villages as Red Zones while as dozen of the adjacent villages of the Red Zones have been declared as buffer zones.
The district administration has so far declared 18 villages as Red Zones which include Solinda Tangmarg, Chaktan Chanapura, Chandilaora, Harionto, Kampura, Gotipura, Katipura, Qazipura, Kalwara , Hard-Ichloo, Kralpura, Khawajipura, Sowan, Aghama, and Sultan Dhaki Basgaran, Amlok Colony of Uri, and Malapora of Narvaw Sheeri and Sherbagh Churimarpoora Kanlibagh Baramulla town also include in the red zones .
While as 32 villages in Tangmarg, Kanlibagh, Narwav and Uri have been placed in the buffer zone.
Meanwhile, District Administration Baramulla on Tuesday announced that Indoor Sports Stadium Baramulla near Degree College Baramulla, has been converted into a fully equipped wellness center to treat COVID-19 patients.
Deputy Commissioner, Dr G N Itoo, while dedicating this vital facility to Covid-19 patients, informed that the health centre with capacity of 100 beds has all the requisite facilities to treat the COVID patients. “All the COVID-19 patients have been shifted from GMC Baramulla to this newly established Center,” he added.
He said that the move was taken keeping in view the convenience of general patients as there is a restriction of sorts in shifting out patients already receiving treatment for other conditions.
