More than 200 people discharged from Baramulla quarantine centers
Baramulla: Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla on Sunday discharged seven COVID-19 patients, including the patient who was the first positive case in the district, after being repeatedly tested negative for the infection they had contracted.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo, flanked Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital Dr Syed Masood and team of doctors treating COVID-19 patients congratulated the recovered patients and urged upon them to remain in home quarantine for some time as a precautionary measure.
“This disease can be defeated if necessary measures and precautions are followed,” the Dr. Itoo added.
“They were tested repeatedly and all these tests were found negative. These patients were discharged after a month and have been advised strict 14 days home quarantine,” he said.
Meanwhile, thirty more persons associated with Tabligi-e-Jammat were discharged from quarantine centre JNV Shahkote after their repeated tests came negative and completing 17 days quarantine period.
In charge Medical Officer JNV Shahkote quarantine center said that they were kept under proper medical supervision and discharged with the strict directions to remain in home quarantine.
The discharged quarantined Tabligi jamat members appreciated the role of DC Baramulla Dr GN Itoo , two Yong officers Naveed Altaf (KAS), Mustaq Ahmed Balot In charge quarantine center JNV Shahkote and staff of Sub Division Uri for tremendous support during quarantine period.
Meanwhile, 150 persons have been discharged from TRC Salambad, Mohra and Shahkote Quarantine Centers so far after successfully completing their required two weeks quarantine in Sub Division Uri.
Fifteen persons from Bandipora district who had tested positive for COVID-19 were discharged from different hospitals in Srinagar so far.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza said the persons were discharged from Srinagar hospitals after recovering from the infection following treatment.
He said the district recorded 91 positive cases so far out of which 15 recovered while one death was also reported on April 07. He said there are 75 active cases in the district.
Mirza said the discharged persons have been put under home quarantine as a precautionary measures and their medical check -up shall be regularly conducted. He said samples of 870 persons were taken for testing purpose out of which 683 were reported negative while 91 were reported positive. Result of 96 tests is awaited.
DC Bandipora said 27114 persons have been screened in 12 Red zones out of the total population of 48969 in these villages. 543 persons have been put under administrative quarantine while 3776 persons are under home quarantine and are being regularly monitored.
In Malrpora and Audoora area where a policeman was tested positive, health authorities continued contact tracing operation. All the primary contacts have been quarantined. Sanitation was conducted in Malpora and Audora villages where positive patient had visited.
