PC’s former Secretary General passes away

Srinagar: People’s Conference on Thursday expressed heartfelt condolence over the sad demise of party’s former Secretary General Advocate Peer Hafiz-ullah Makhdoomi who died in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday after prolonged illness.

PC, in a statement, said that Makhdoomi died after prolonged illness. He said the deceased was a noble soul and a renowned personality in political circles of J&K who contributed much in making party strong at grass root level.

Originally from Gojwara, Srinagar Late Makhdoomi was considered a close aide of Late Khwaja Abdul Gani Lone and worked hard together since inception of party. He was buried in Malkhah cemetery.

Meanwhile, President Anjuman Sharie Shian Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi on Thursday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Advocate Peer Hafiz-Ullah Makhdoomi.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), spokesman of the party quoting Aga Hassan as having said that Late Hafizullah was a noble soul and his contribution towards Kashmir’s political landscape is highly recognised.

In the meantime, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Independent Movement (JKPIM) Chairman Bilal Gani Lone on Thursday expressed heartfelt condolences over the sad demise of Advocate Peer Hafiz-ullah Makhdoomi.

JKPIM Chairman expressed solidarity with the bereaved family at this juncture and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

He said Late Makhdoomi was a close advisor and friend of Late Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone and both families were in strong bonding. He termed the deceased a ‘noble’ and ‘pious’ soul who immensely sacrificed while remaining part of the freedom movement.
