GMC Srinagar conducts medical education prog on Coronavirus

SRINAGAR, FABURERY 06: Principal and Dean Government Medical College, Srinagar, Prof Parviz Ahamd Shah today said that effective measures have been made at SHMS Hospital for sample collection and management of suspect cases of Coronovirus.

It was stated by the Principal during a medical education programme conducted on Coronovirus at Government Medical College, Srinagar.

Hospital Administration, Resident Doctors of GMC Srinagar and associated hospitals attended the programme.

Assistant Prof. Community Medicine and Associate Prof Micro Biology department presented a detailed Power Point on the global scenario, epidemiology, surveillance, management and infection control measures related to the Virus

Speaking on the occasion, the principal said that an isolation ward with adequate supply of PPE, masks and laboratory support has been set up at SHMS Hospital.

While HOD Community medicine, Mohammad Saleem Khan has been designated as nodal officer to coronate with allied departments. GMC has developed SOP, guidelines for its associated hospitals regarding the Corona Virus infection.
