2 Alpine Skiers selected for Asian Championship
Srinagar, February 03: Two young skiers of Winter Games Association of J&K (WGAJK) have been selected by Ski and Snowboard India (Federation) for upcoming Asian Junior Ski Championship to be held in Iran from 24th February this winter.
Zara Hashim of Bemina Srinagar was selected on the basis of securing 1st position in Slalom and 4th Position in Giant Slalom.
Zamin Rashid Tantray of Baramulla secured first position in Slalom and 2nd in Giant Slalom in the last State Winter Games organized by the Winter Games Association at Kongdori-Gulmarg in March 2019.
The WGAJK focuses on child skiing to raise a strong team for future national and international races, said General Secretary WGAJK Muhammad Yusuf.
Both skiers are talented and have racing capabilities, he added.
