Srinagar, Jul 12: Chief Justice of the J&K High Court today expressed displeasure at administrative wing of the court for failing to properly maintain and note the orders of the apex court for bringing them to the notice of concerned benches of the state High Court.

The Chief Justice directed the Registrars Judicial of both wings of the High Court should maintain records of all the cases monitored by the Supreme Court or where directions have been given by the apex court required to be implemented or where time-bound reports have to be submitted to the top court or any other forum or authority.

The Chief Justice passed the order in connection with the proceedings in public interest petitions against Union of India by J&K High Court filed in 2016.

The Chief Justice expressed the need to draw a protocol regarding the manner in which the time-bound matters that are being monitored by the Supreme Court of India and other authorities be dealt by the Registry and the court staff.

The court files in these cases shall be marked appropriately in distinct marking by the concerned judicial branch so that such cases are immediately identifiable, she ordered.

She directed “it shall be the responsibility of the bench secretary to ensure that the orders and directions of the Supreme Court or any other Forum or Authority which are required to be complied with in any case are brought to the notice of the bench hearing the matter.”

J&K Chief Justice ordered that the directions be strictly complied in letter and spirit by the organizational officers of the court.
