11 persons injured in road accidents in Ganderbal

Srinagar, July 12: Eleven persons were injured on Friday in five separate road accidents in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

All the 11 injured persons are being treated at different hospitals and two among them are said to be critical.

In Sumbal Balla area, a car (JKO1AH-9053) collided with another vehicle (JK01AJ-6365), resulting in injuries to six passengers travelling in the car.

The injured were identified as Hatim and Jazim Ahmed Khan, sons of Showkat Ahmed Khan, residents of Anantnag; Manzoor Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad; Tabassum, wife of Manzoor Ahmed; Mohammad Aafan, son of Manzoor Ahmed; all residents of Elahibagh Soura.

The injured persons were shifted to Sub-District Hospital Kangan, wherefrom they were referred to SKIMS Soura for further treatment.

In Kangan area near Power House, a Tavera vehicle (JK03E/2932) hit Rayees Ahmad Mir (23), son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir, a resident of Drugtang Prang Kangan. The injured youth was subsequently shifted to Sub-District Hospital Kangan for treatment and then referred to Srinagar’s SMHS Hospital for the advanced treatment.

At main market Kangan, a Taveera cab (JK07-3580) collided with a Scooty (JKO1AG-5433) leaving Adil Ahmed Lone, son of Ghulam Mohammad, and Mohammad Shakir, son of Abdul Rasheed, both residents of Kangan injured. They were rushed to Sub-District Hospital Kangan for the treatment.

Earlier in the morning, 45-year-old woman identified as Zairoon Begum, wife of Mohammad Mousa, a resident of Ramwari Gund, was hit by a speeding truck at Hariganiwan Kangan, resulting in injuries to the woman. The injured woman was later taken to Kangan hospital for the treatment.

In Kullan Gund area, an 8-year-old boy Fridous Ahmed Sheikh, son of Fayaz Ahmed Sheikh was hit by an army vehicle which was part of a convoy, when he was on way to his school near Bilalia Masjid in Kullan Gund. The army vehicle fled from the spot leaving the minor injured.

The injured student was subsequently taken to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Kullan, wherefrom he was referred to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan for the further treatment.
