"Successive regimes have neglected district Kupwara"

Srinagar, July 5: Peoples Conference while welcoming the decision to constitute Srinagar & Jammu Metropolitan Region Development Authority has expressed its displeasure at the exclusion of District Kupwara in the Srinagar Metropolitan Region.

“While the authorities have included four districts from south Kashmir and two districts from central Kashmir in the Srinagar Metropolitan Region Authority, they have only included district Baramulla from North Kashmir.”, PC spokesman Adnan Ashraf Mir said.

“District Kupwara has continuously been ignored and neglected on political and developmental front by successive governments of NC & PDP. It would be grave injustice to the people of district Kupwara to be again left out of projects and schemes for growth, development and infrastructure creation in the region”, the spokesman added.

He further said that Peoples Conference leadership has taken up the genuine demand with higher-ups in the administration.

“The party leadership has spoken with the concerned authorities and urged them to approve & include District Kupwara in the Srinagar Metropolitan Region Development Authority for overall development in the region”, he added.
