Chinar Corps Commander inaugurates second batch of Kashmir Supper 30
Srinagar: The Chinar Corps has been at the forefront of taking modern education to remote areas and under privileged sections of Kashmir. After the successful experience of Engineering Super 30 (now Super 50), it was decided to facilitate similar coaching and mentoring for NEET examination through the pioneer project of Kashmir Super 30 (Medical), a defense spokesman said.
The initiative in its first year broke all records with a stupendous result, said the spokesman, adding all the students cracked one of the toughest examinations in the country.
The Kashmir Super 30 initiative with the support of Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (HPCL) and National Integrity & Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO) has empowered its 30 students to achieve this fabulous result, which will enable securing admissions into the premier institutions to pursue MBBS, BDS and associated courses.
The project is being conducted under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts of HPCL. NEIDO is the training partner. The Indian Army providing the infrastructure, lodging, boarding facility and conducive study environment for the students. The students of the pioneer batch were selected after an exhaustive entrance and aptitude test. The selection was focused on talented students from underprivileged strata of society and then mentored for NEET exams.
Despite the numerous challenges, the coaching was undertaken as per the stipulated schedule and the training partner ensured the availability of highly qualified faculty from Delhi & Kanpur. A series of mock tests in ‘live’ conditions were also conducted. The outstanding result of 100% success is a testimony of the dedication, hard work & determination of students buttressed with excellent coaching and study environment provided free.
Boosted by the stupendous performance of the first batch, the Chinar Corps in partnership with HPCL has commenced the coaching of the second batch of Kashmir Super 30 (Medical) from 19 Jun. The screening test for the second batch was conducted across the various centres in the state, wherein a total of 1362 students appeared and 30 students were finally enrolled.
Speaking on the occasion Lt Gen KJS Dhillon, Chinar Corps Commander said, “The Army has always stood by the Awaam of Kashmir through Sadbhavana and other initiatives. In the Valley itself, the Army provides quality education to over 10,000 students though its 28 Army Goodwill Schools”. Appreciating the efforts of the students he said, “I wish to compliment the parents for their constant support and motivation, the teachers for their motivation and hard work and most importantly the students for their hard work.” He also wished the fresh batch of students all the success and prayed that their hard work would bear similar results next year with top marks.
The Chinar Corps Commander thanked HPCL and NEIDO for their contribution in transforming the future of 30 families and positively influencing the lives of more than 20 times the number of people.
