Train service suspended in south Kashmir on second consecutive day

Srinagar: Train service on the Srinagar-Banihal track continued to remain suspended on the second consecutive day on Saturday for security reasons following the killing of two militants in Awantipora area of Pulwama district.

However, train service was normal in north Kashmir, a senior railway official said.

He said a fresh advisory was received from the administration, including police not to resume train service in south Kashmir on Saturday also.

He said, therefore, no train will chug on Budgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal.
