FCR reviews progress on 6th mini irrigation, water bodies census

SRINAGAR, JUNE 12: Financial Commissioner Revenue, Pawan Kotwal today directed Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir Division to prioritize Mini irrigation census for both underground and surface water for planning purposes besides to furnish realistic agricultural productivity figures for framing of Agricultural Policy.

Financial Commissioner Revenue said this while chairing a meeting to review the progress of 6th Mini Irrigation, Water Bodies census for Kashmir division.

In the meeting, the FC said that the census data of Mini Irrigation and agricultural productivity figures will be used for estimating the availability of groundwater and formulation of a realistic plan for water resource development in the state.

Financial Commissioner Revenue also directed the DCs to expedite anti-encroachment drive on the state land in their respective jurisdictions

He also sought information of identified encroached land and directed the DCs to make their field staff accountable for keeping retrieved land encroachment free.

He also asked the DCs to pass an order after the eviction of state land so that the evicted land could be easily identified.

He further directed the officers to send a proposal for landless and shelterless people for land identification for their shelter which will subsequently be sent for approval.

For construction and renovation of the revenue offices and complexes and inventory of buildings in the concerned districts, Pawan Kotwal directed the concerned DCs to provide a realistic figure for creation of Revenue Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) for approval.

The meeting was attended by DC Srinagar, Shahid Chaudhary, DC Budgam, Dr. Sehrish Asgar, DC Kulgam, Shamim Ahmad Wani, DC Kupwara, Anshul Garg, DC Shopian, Owais Ahmed, ADCs of Anantnag, Pulwama, Leh, ACRs of Ganderbal, Bandipora, and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
