Sehrai pays tributes to late Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq, Khawja Abdul Gani Lone

Srinagar, May 19: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai on Sunday paid rich tributes late Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq and Khawja Abdul Gani Lone.

Sehrai in a statement said: “The supreme and exalted sacrifices of martyrdom Moulvi Mohammad Farooq and Khawja Abdul Gani Lone will go down in the annals of freedom movement of Jammu and Kashmir in the letters of gold, the late will be remembered and revered by the grateful and freedom-loving people of this lovely land for the historical role that he vigorously played in championing the legitimate and widely-acknowledged cause of the people at every forum.”

“Both leaders during their struggle for the dignity and honor of the people upheld values which remain as an asset,” he added.

“Terming them as great and visionary personalities, who always worked for the betterment of people. He said that the freedom struggle of Kashmiris was adorned with the blood of martyrs and therefore no power on earth could defeat it by oppressive measures.” reads the statement.

“Sehrai said that the Kashmiri people were indebted to the invaluable sacrifices of the martyrs and no one would be allowed to play with these sacrifices and such precious sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would never go waste. Sehrai reiterated the Kashmiris’ pledge to continue the liberation movement till taking it to its logical conclusion,” it said.

Meanwhile, Sehrai in his statement condemned the “arbitrary arrest and slapping of draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) on JKLF Leader Noor Mohammad Kalwal”. “Undemocratic and cheap tactics by the authorities could not weaken the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people nor their leadership. Kashmiri people and pro-freedom leadership is being subjected to vengeance by the authorities,” he said.
