PCCF visits GMC to enquire health of injured forest Guard

JAMMU, MAY 18: Principal Chief Conservator Forest (PCCF),  Suresh  Chugh along with Chief Conservator of Forest, Sameer Bharti, DFO Reasi, Anil Kumar Atri and DFO Urban Jammu, Sunil Kumar today visited Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu to enquire about the health of a Forest Guard, Omkar Singh, who got injured recently while performing his duties in the Reasi Forest Division.

The PCCF and other officers interacted with the family of the official and assured all assistance for his treatment. The PCCF said that the department will bear all the expenses for the treatment of the official.

The doctors informed the PCCF that his condition was stable and being monitored regularly.

It may be mentioned that the forest Guards work in very difficult conditions and each guard protects around 25 square kilometres of forest area. Every year large number of forest staff get injuries while performing their duties and some have lost their lives. PCCF directed the concerned official to release Benevolent Fund immediately for the Forest Guard and issued directions to DFO to take care of the patient till he recovers fully.
