RO Baramulla reviews arrangements for counting
BARAMULLA, MAY 14: Returning Officer (RO) for Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency Dr G N Itoo accompanied by SSP Baramulla and other concerned officers today visited the election counting centres established at Government Degree College for Boys Baramulla, to review the arrangements for the smooth counting of Lok Sabha elections 2019, scheduled on May 23.
During the visit, the RO took a detailed review of necessary arrangements wherein he was informed that 15 counting halls for 15 assembly segments have been established at the venue. It was also informed that these halls shall be equipped with Public Address System (PAS), internet connectivity and other necessary requirements so that the process is held conveniently. Moreover, it was informed that a media centre and a waiting hall shall be established for media persons and election agent/candidates respectively.
Emphasizing upon the concerned officers to work in coordination, RO asked them to put in extra efforts so that counting process can be held hassle free. He also stressed upon them to put in place a viable mechanism so that the counting process is conducted in an efficient and transparent manner.
Dr Itoo directed the SSP to make adequate security arrangements so that free, fair and secure counting is ensured. He emphasized for adopting proper traffic management plan to avoid any kind of traffic congestion.
